Carrows and Coco's Free Wifi

I have an interesting problem and I can't figure out a fix for it. Because of my work I spend a lot time at either Coco's or Carrows. They offer free wifi to all. The problem is when i am using my macbook pro there and it is connected to the free wifi it causes problems with my system. I can't access the internet and also when i go to click on Safari or Microsoft Office icon they just keep jumping. I can't do anything until i log n using my phone or my verizon wifi. If I disconnect from the free network and try to use my verizon wifi or tether my phone the problem doesn't go away,

Any Idea's?
