I just ordered the MBA with the education sale, so now I have a $100 gift card that I am going to use to buy a solid case and wireless mouse for my MBA. I am planning on using it heavily in college, mostly carrying it around in a backpack. Does anyone have any good recommendations?

Case: I am looking for a solid sleeve case. I have been looking at these two:

http://store.apple.com/us/product/H...or=sleeve&m.macCompatibility=13inchmacbookair

Mouse: It seems to be that a wireless receptor mouse is much more responsive than a bluetooth mouse, so it is probably worth the USB slot. Correct me if I am wrong.

Looking for good battery life, fairly compact. The mouse doesn't have to be explicitly for the apple store, as the only one that isn't the apple mouse is this:

Also:

http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-GM-M...UTF8&colid=IGEPIOKNWPOL&coliid=I1HGFTQEFLZHIT (If I go Bluetooth)

Any recommendations for a wireless mouse and case is very much appreciated.

Either of those cases look very soft to me, not much protection even in your bag.

And for a mouse, the Apple magic mouse wins hands down.

I was on the lookout for a sleeve for my MBA as well. Something that would protect it from scratches while in my bag during travel. Not something huge and bulky that would better protect it from falls, but I'm more worried about scratches since I usually treat my stuff pretty well and don't drop them. I found these that I really liked:

There are also some really nice handmade sleevs on etsy, but are a bit more expensive:

As far as mice, I have had no problem using bluetooth mice and actually prefer them since you don't have to deal with the USB connector. I haven't noticed any kind of delay or problems using a Magic Mouse, so even if a Magic Mouse isn't the kind of mouse you want, definitely don't worry about bluetooth being a problem.

That $100 gift card is only for the App Store. You can't buy accessories and hardware with it.

Just to check, you know the $100 gift card can only be spent on digital purchases right? If you mean the Back To School promo one.
