I current have the switcheasy canvas. I dont like it too much bc when i want to hold it up and read. Its very awkward with the the front cover dangling. I was thinking of taking off the cover piece but leaving the shell and then buy the apple smart over. So I can have the shell protection in the back and the front protection(from the smart cover) while i carrying it and then while I am using it I can either bend the smart cover to get a better viewing position or take the smart cover off when I want to read.

-do you think this is a good idea?
-would the smart cover be able to snap on the ipad with the switcheasy shell on it?
-Also is there a cheaper alternative to the apple smart cover, that just covers the front and can create diff view angles and comes off?

Thanks!
