Well ive just ordered the blue case mate jett for my iphone 4, and hope it is as good as it looks.

Also ordered the black one but had to get one shipped from the states as it seems the black is not readily available in the uk ! rolls eyes...

Anyone actualy usimg or have used one of these that can comment.

The utube vids look promising.

Where did you order from in the UK?

I ordered the blue one using Amazon Uk.

I ordered the black one using Amazon US.

The black does not seem to be available in the uk !

Red, Bue and green are available thro Amazon Uk.

I did not order thro e bay due to the amount of fakes milling around !

If it doesn't arrive broken the plastic connectors will break themselves after a few weeks or so

People who have fitted the case the wrong way have ended up with broken connectors located at the top of the phone. No users thus far have reported the case failing without reason, eg they dropped the phone and the case broke away.

Have you had the connectors break on you ?

----------

I wound up returning mine since the case scratched up the antenna on my iPhone.

I have lucky labs spectra wraps on the antenna of my phone so scratching wont be an issue, although I noticed the case has cushion pads at intervels inside, so it should not have scratched the antenna band !

I have purchsed 3 of them. Black, grey, and red.

Two have broken spontaneously at the plastic. I am not a college student. I keep the phone in my work bag to my office.

Both times, I pulled my phone out of the bag and notice one half of the case sitting a bit loose.

So yes. It does happen. I love the case and still use the remaining halves. The customer service is great as they replaced mine the first time...but after the second break, I just decided to let it go and just use the remaining "halves" that I have.

Good luck!

Thank you for your insight.

You must really like this case to have purchased three of them !

I realise on balance that there are good and bad experiences will all cases / bumpers so I'll keep an open mind.

If the case fails then like you a replacement will be requested followed by a refund if necessary !

I keep my iPhone in a pdair vertical leather holster so I too would not expect it to fail without reason. I suppose it's the fact that other metal bumpers degrade signal and case mate trying to resolve this by placing the plastic inserts where they are in the antenna band.

Thank you again.

I don't recommend anyone purchase a Jett case from what I've heard from a lot of people having the plastic breaking. Not to mention it doesn't look special. It's got a lazy design imo.

I appreciate your opinion about the aesthetics.

I assume you have not used one as you state in your reply about what you've heard about them. The main issue was how people were fitting them onto the phone. If you dint clip it in at the top first and then the bottom the top plastic clip can snap. This is well documented on utube.

Nope, but I have used just about every aluminum bumper you can name :p

Well just to end the thread I thought I would update you with what I think of my now delivered, and fitted Case Mate Jett Metal Bumper blue case.

The case came intact with no damage as some have suffered.

The fitting of the case was simple and without hiitch which is because I followed the online instructions, as fitting this by not hooking up the top first can cause the top part to break !

Nice touches like the case mate name on the inner lip of the 30 pin dock and on the side of the case are nice, and not garish.

I like the way that each front corner is raised to give lay on the table protection with the ramaining sides and top lowered to help typing and not hitting the lip when your swiping the screen or scrolling.

I have had NO signal loss and NO 3g or Wifi loss either, even when ive tried the death grip where the plastic bungs are.

On the subject of the plastic bungs some have said this is a weak point in the case, and can fail. Well time will tell regarding this.

The blue version is a nice deep colour, with a really nice sheen on it.

Ive also ordered the black colour through the USA amazon site as weirdly enough black is unavailabe thro the uk site ??

Appros 2-3 weeks shipping time to the Uk.

The metal buttons for the volume + - , sleep /wake and mute are all good quality machined parts, and are very tactile resulting in them feeling like they are part of the phone.

The look and feel of the case is nice and screams quality and looks more expensive than its Uk price tag of £30 and $60.00{inc shipping}.

Ok. Well it was delivered within a few days from that seller.

It is a nice metallic blue.

After using it for a day I seem to have improved my signal by 1 Barr

The important part is that ive not had any signal or 3g loss at all.

I for one, like the look of the Jett case.

However I had 2 break on me, the plastic parts... and just couldn't stand it anymore, so returned it for refund.

If the plastic wasn't so prone to breaking, I'd be all over this case again...

Well I'm 3 days into using the case with no issues.

I keep my phone in a pdair leather vertical case on my belt. Maybe that will stop it from being tossed around.

Which plastic parts failed for you ?

The plastic clip at the top of the case or the two plastic inserts in the case to mirror the antenna band which helps stop signal and 3G loss ?

BOTH! one on each case!

I also babied this case, I noticed the first breakage when I pulled the phone out of my pocket and the case literally fell apart on me.

Second time I noticed the case was loose, then closer inspection showed that one of the tabs broke.

:(

I wonder if their titanium version of the jett has the same cheap plastic parts... I would hope not for the price!

Thanks for the heads up and i'll keep an eye on it.

As for the titanium question why dont you e mail case mate direct to ask ?

Early days yet, dont worry you will get you breakage soon:D

good thing is that their customer services is excellent

So how are you getting on with the case?

Im interested, but it seems its not worth the £40 considering the reviews

I have the blue and black version.

No signal or 3G loss at all.

No break where the two plastic bungs are either.

You just have to aware on how to fit the case as you can snap the top part if you fit it the wrong way !

Is it worth £40 you ask , well in my opinion yes.

I'm very happy with the bumper case and they complement the SGP carbon shield I have on the back.
