I'm new to the iphone in general. I have a 4S. Yay, me.

Anyway, I know you have to get cases for them and otterbox is a good name. Turns out I have the commuter and the beefier version is the defender.

It looks like all of the third party mounts that work with cases usually prefer the otterbox defender. I'm still within the exchange period to take it back to the store and get a different case. I'd like to be able to use the phone with a mount on my bicycle. Given the battery consumption, though, a generator hub on the front wheel might be in order.

Anyone have any opinions on the two cases? I've seen some people prefer the commuter to the defender.

Check in the iPhone Accessories subforum, a lot of discussions there about cases. You can probably search existing threads there and get a lot of comparisons between those two.
