I am shoping for an iPhone 4 holster and came upon the CaseMate one that has a magnetic closure. According to the casemate site their magnetic flap is Apple aprooved.

Any truth to that? I always tought magnetic cases where not safe for the phone and I have not seen any in the apple store.

Also recomendations on holsters are wellcome.

Unless it's one of those rare earth neodymium magnets that can lift a car, yes it's safe.

this one is non magnetic and is equally awkward

LOL that's quite a large holster, I'd rather use my purse.

Is there a thread on holdsters? I searched and could not find one.

why a holster then ?

Just slap on a front and rear shield and then you can safely put it in your purse without worrying about scratches

Cause I don't use a purse all the time. And jean pockets are quite tight for the phone ;-)

I need a slim beltclip holster.

English is not my first language.

So many replys and just one recomendation...
I actually googled what you asked and came up with way more than enough to form a tentative opinion.
Try it (googling), its more fun, and helpful, than getting no answer, or a bunch of factually baseless, opinionated ones.

I found the answer by googling as you recommended. Seems that magnetic cases causing problems for iPhone 4 is split. Some people report problems while others say it is fine. An apple support article says that magnetic cases can cause problems and in the apple store they don't sell any magnetic cases...

As for what pouch or holster to get, I will be checking reviews on youtube and other sites.
