I've ordered my MBA 2020 in gold and whilst I wait to receive it, I'm shopping around for cases - specifically shells but I'm struggling to find any. Can any recommend any websites already stocking them? Ideally I want something clear to show off the colour and I won't mind skins either. Thank you...

I've just ordered a Woolnut slip case for my new 2020 air. I wanted something decent to protect my air when traveling ( when we're allowed to travel again !)

Thanks!

Does anyone know the model number by any chance or if the cases for MPA 2019 will fit?

As far as skins, the ones for the 2018/2019 MBAirs should be ok I think. The dimensions are the same except for the back being a wee bit taller. There will be a wee bit more gap for the back skin

Did you find a good shell case for your MBA? I'm looking for one for my daughter (will be either a 2018 or 2019 MBA...same design as the 2020).

How about tomtoc 360 Protective Laptop Sleeve Case for 13-inch New MacBook Air with Retina Display A1932 A2179, 13 Inch New MacBook Pro with USB-C A2159 A1989 A1706 A1708? now they have 20% off discount for the bag with code: KZS8LD78, looks good

I Have this one in black, arrived before the MBA so can't say if it fits or not but according to the reviews it should be perfect. My use case is: I always move around/travel with a small backpack. I wanted some sleeve to keep the mac things organized and protected when moving. Not having to care much about how I drop the backpack etc.
TLDR: Perfect case for this.

First impressions:
- The inside is super soft. Looks really good to protect your MBA. The inner fabric is super smooth to the touch.
- The 'bubbles' inside seem just like an odd/fancy design, but from a practical design perspective I think it's a smart decision. If a small stone gets into the sleeve, it will fall into the part of lower resistance, while the MBA will be in contact with the bumps instead. This way, the bumps can prevent scratches.
- The MBA fits into a cushioned frame (never touches the zip). Lower corners are reinforced too.
- The front pocket is big enough to fit the charger, USB hub, an A5 notebook and a pen. Probably something else.
- The case is kind of water resistant. That makes the external fabric touch less premium than leather. Maybe this is the only thing I don't like. The outside touch is less premium to get practical features for day to day usage (maybe more resistant to water powder etc). Let's say it looks premium until you touch it hah.
- Feels robust. Come from a Beez sleeve. Was softer and without all the features apart from good foam. The external fabric was softer to the touch but less resistant. I feel my MBA will be way more protected in the Tomtoc than the Beez for sure.
- Zips are ok.
- Started searching for a Beez but their sleeves seem to be outdated and not fitting properly the new 13". Tomtoc came with this solution and are based in LA, this was a plus.

To sum up, if you prioritize protection, practicality and money against the premium touch of leather, that's perfect.
If you prioritize leather (which I do for example for my wallet) I'd look at Bellroy.

On my 2010 MBA I have a GELASKINS film. Mine is a custom design but they have all sorts of skins for protection.

Here's an idea for a new Gelaskins for my next MBA. You select your model computer, upload a picture to their website and move the size sliders to get the image the size you want. When you're satisfied you hit Save and they show you a render of how it will come out. For a 13" MBA I find that a 1200x800 picture is the perfect starting point.
