Been trying out a few different cases for my new 17 pro and I noticed with this one it has the typical raised lip above the screen, but not along the middle-ish of the sides. The top and corner areas do, but then the case lip goes away. It makes it easier to swipe across the screen I guess. But with a screen protector on it actually feels like the screen now sits above the tiny/non-existent lip?

Never has this type of case before so it manly just feels a bit weird. I certainly worry that it’s not as protected, but I wonder if that’s actually true given the lip in corners+top/bottom still there?

What do you guys think of these style of cases - yay or nay?

when i read the many sites that published case reviews right after the iPhone 17/Air phones came out, none of the type of case you refer to was rated as giving enough protection for anything more than minor drops.
