The grass is not always greener on the other side:
1. The apple watch app is baked into iOS meaning it gets treated with special system privileges (for example iOS will never close the watch app if its idle too long and it needs to free up memory).
2. ALL other smart watches require watch apps which are considered 3rd party apps and treated with less privilege. Pebble watch app, Android watch app. Fitbit App, etc.
The Apple watch disconnects/reconnects with users not even noticing. I can't say thats the same experience I had with my Pebble watch. Sometimes I'd have to close the pebble app and re-launch it when it would lose connection or toggle bluetooth or unpair repair just to fix a connection issue.
