The Cassnova (please note it's not Cass"a"nova) 13-13.3-inch denim laptop case/sleeve straddles the line between a sleeve and a case. Sleeves are typically designed to protect a computer (or device) from surface scratches incurred when transporting or storing the device in a larger bag or tote, but are not meant to be the sole means of protection. Sleeves are generally not designed to protect a device from damage when dropped.
The Cassnova remains quite slim when the handles are collapsed into the outside pockets and so would work as a sleeve.
Cases are generally designed to provide more protection as well as ease of transport. When the handles are extended, the Cassnova functions well as a case as the handles make for easy transport. The case is lightly padded inside with foam and there is a soft, short-nap felt lining between the foam and your device, protecting the device from surface scratches.
A zippered pocket on one side provides room for items such as a cell phone, pens and pencils, small chargers, earbuds/earphones, or other small items. I wear glasses when working on my computer but found the case I keep them in too bulky to transport in this pocket. The outside pockets the handles collapse into could also be used to store small or thin items.
My 13" Retina MacBook Pro fits nicely inside the Cassnova with a little room at either end to spare. I can also slip a medium-thick file folder in with the computer if I need to.
It's a nice-looking casual case I think wouldn't feel out of place in a variety of environments, from school to the office.
