I am running Catalina 10.15.5 Beta on a Mid 2014 MBP. Having issues with running out of hard drive space. I have a .photoslibrary file that is 170 GB. I do have iCloud photos on all of my Apple devices. If I delete this .photoslibrary file, will it remove the iCloud photos as well? I do not know how iCloud works with mirroring files on the hard drive. Much like dropbox downloads everything to your hard drive as a copy, does iCloud do this also? I am thinking that since I have fiber, if I need to grab photos off of iCloud, I will wait the time it takes just to save hard drive space. Is that possible?

Thanks so much!

There is an option in iCloud settings to store full size photos in the cloud and only keep thumbnails on the computer, have you tried that?
