I installed the latest "supplemental" update today and once it completed, I had two new hard drive icons on my desktop. One shows as an internal HD and the other as an attached USB drive. The one showing as internal has the exact "get info" information as my internal hard drive. Same APFS format, same capacity etc. The external appears to be the exact same as a small external SSD that I have installed the beta of Big Sur on. Disk utility shows the "internal" drive as a container of disk1 and the external as a container of disk5.

This is really hard to explain so if this doesn't make sense, I can clarifiy. Basically, the issue is, why is the mac shopwing what appears to be duplicate volumes in finder and disk utility?

Screen shot attached.

Thanks in advance!
