I have successfully installed Catalina 15.5.5 on my Mid 2011 Mac - Intel Core i5. I read previous to the install that there are issues with my graphics card - Radeon HD 6970M. The only issues I have noted so far are:
- slow renbdering of maps, when for example zoomng on Google maps
- Youtube video can be a little choppy
- MAC won't go to sleep (click is unresponsive)
I can live with the first 2 since I am using the mac mostly for command line and not for any real GPU heavy tasks. However is it possible to swap out the GPU for something with better support? Otherwise are there any other settings or actions I can take.
Overall I am very pleased with the performance - thanks to the developer who has enabled Catalina on my old but still very capable Mac!
