Catalina and Sugar Sync not working together

Yesterday I upgraded to Catalina. My fan keeps running, my battery drains super fast, and sugar sync is not writing to my hard drive.

I'd like to uninstall Catalina.

I've read conflicting articles about how to do that.

If I restore to factory settings -- will Catalina still be on my Mac? Or will it revert to the OS it came with?
