Moving to Catalina, my Audiobooks, music, TV series and Movies were meant to migrate to their respective applications.

I use a Mac Pro which only has 256GB SSD installed, so I had symbolic links to a connected Drobo device where I stored all the media.

The migration went OK for Music, TV and Movies, but wouldn't work for Books. On migration, the SSD filled up and Books crashed.

I attempted to fix it by setting a symbolic link to the Drobo, but the Books app would not write to the linked folder - citing that the permissions were not allowing access. I changed the permissions of the folder to r/w for everyone, staff and myself and checked in the Terminal that it had 777 permissions. It still wouldn't work.

I contacted Apple and they said that Books was different to TV in that it cannot accept Symbolic links - so I'm now stuffed with my Audiobook access.
