still won't stop Catalina from finding new updates

Also every couple of days I'm getting the update notification (install/remind in...). It's been like that since 10.15.0 probably, constantly nagging me. I want to stay at 10.15.4 for some time and I wonder what's going on here? Is the Check for updates option not doing anything and just always checking? Is it a bug or just Apple pushing hard to update? If so, why won't they remove this checkbox completely, if it doesn't do anything anyway. I tried this:
sudo softwareupdate --ignore "macOS Catalina"
but it still nags me on the second day or so. Funny, at this point my Windows 10 bothers me less about the updates than Catalina on all my macs. Didn't have those problems in Mojave and earlier. Also it was nice to be able to stop App Store from finding updates and it seems that this option is removed as well... eh. Also I realize that clicking on Software Update pane even once, will force check for updates but I don't do that until it actually starts showing the notification and takes me there after clicking on it.
