I've been searching for a solution to this problem and was hoping someone from here might be able to help.

I have the latest version of Catalina (can't upgrade to big sur). My iPhone is an 8Plus with latest software.

What happens is that I have it set to auto sync when connected to wireless network. This will work for about a day or two, then when I look at finder the little spinning sync icon just sits and spins and spins saying it's waiting for sync to start. My phone is on my network and should be found. It will sometimes throw an error saying it lost connection with iPhone, but I don't that that's related. Anyway, once it's in this state, you cannot stop Finder from trying to sync iPhone. You can't even restart my MBP cause you'll get a message stating that an iOS device is still syncing and you have to wait. So your only option is to do a hard shutdown (which I don't like to do) or take your phone off wireless and wait about 5-10 minutes and you'll eventually get the 'iPhone has stopped syncing because it no longer has a connection' error (or something like that) which then stops the syncing and returns to normal. Then you can reconnect to wireless and it will sync again for a bit until it gets stuck again. I have waiting 4 days to see if it ever will start to sync and it does not. So far I only have that one work around.

There has to be a fix for this, but considering all my other syncing issues that Apple Engineers continue to tell me they are aware of and working on it (the issue with photos not syncing properly or out of 5 folders maybe 3 will sync and 2 won't with no explanation).

Does anyone else have this issue??? Hope someone can help.

Thanks.
