Does anyone have any issues with FileVault and password typing?
Every time I restart both of my machines: MBP 15'' 2018 and MBP 16'' - when FileVault is enabled when the system turns on, it asks for the password before the actual boot process starts.

I noticed on both machines that randomly and quite often, when I have to enter the password it does not register keystrokes all the time and it's extremely laggy.
On the 15'' I disabled FileVault and noticed that this problem does not replicate anymore. The system turns on, boots and before loading the Desktop prompts the user for the password - and I can type normally.

It is insane the type of issues this OS has, at least for me.

Did anyone experience this and if so, did you manage to sort it out somehow? (PRAM, SMC reset do not fix the issue)

Exact same problem on my fairly new iMac. No solution from support hotline. Last suggestion had been factory reset. That cured the problem until I turned FileVault back on. In my case it takes several keystrokes until they are picked up. Also the mouse does not react while in that pre-boot login-screen. I find that frustrating and unworthy of Apple. :-(
