Catalina was running like a pig on my iMac - apps were taking an age to start. Mojave was much faster. Anyway to try a sidecar patch I disabled Sytem Integrity Protection SIP:

Steps:
- disable SIP, at power-on CMD+R, then from Recovery Terminal: csrutil disable ; reboot

When I booted up and logged in I noticed things were much faster just like in Mojave.

After re-enabling SIP things are still much faster now:
- re-enable SIP , at power-on CMD+R, then from Recovery Terminal:: csrutil enable ; reboot

I think SIP must have got backed up somewhere 😁

Was curious if you decided to keep SIP on, and if so, did the system slow back down again under Catalina since disabling and enabling?
