catch-22 -- Firmware Vs. OS

:mad: Okay I have a used iMac (Slot loading) that I got with no OS on it. I bought OS X to install on it, and it tells me I must update my firmware. I Go to download new firmware and it tells me I need OS 9.1 (or higher) installed.

I don't have the oringinal OS disks... is there a way to update my firmware from a CD? or am I S.O.L. :mad: ?
