Categories and Backgrounder: too sloow

I've installed today last version of Categories and Backgrounder.
I've enabled into folders keep resident.
Reboot my iPhone 3g 2.1 jailbreaked.
Categories takes the same time to access to each folder.
I cannot see any improvements over not keep resident folders...
Any hints ?
