So, what are your thoughts on the movie/documentary Catfish?

I saw this movie not long ago and it's pretty fascinating. Now there's quite the debate about how authentic the film is with many saying that in the end it doesn't matter, but I haven't quite made up my mind about that.

What do you guys think about the movie in general and it's message?

I saw it in the theater awhile ago and thought it was pretty entertaining. The trailers set the movie up to be something completely different than what it ended up being, for better or worse (I could see positives and negatives in that). It was pretty sad, all things considered.

Looks about as interesting as Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus.

I don't know which makes me more confused:

1. People who didn't see the big "twist" coming.
2. People who think this is a real documentary.

One of the worst pieces of crap I have ever seen.

I enjoyed it. I think elements of it were certainly real, but some things may have been added for entertainment purposes.
