Hi guys

Do Caudabe do some good discounts sometimes?

I’ve been thinking about getting a case from them but can’t find anything better then 20% off.

Thanks
I think the most I’ve ever seen is 25% off but 20% isn’t too shabby!

Probably the best you will do until Black Friday is 20-25%. Black Friday I’ve seen 35%

I finally got a Caudabe sheath through the post today for IPhone XS these are my first impressions.

1) The lip is a decent size in my opinion doesn’t need to be any bigger as it would effect functionality of swiping up.

2) The buttons definitely do not feel as tactile as some other cases. I am not really that bothered by this aspect however I know some people are more so then others.

3) I don’t think it’s as grippy as people make it out to be. It’s definitely got a better grip then some of the smoother cases but nowhere close to an Apple silicone case.

4) When the phone is flat on its back there is definitely a slight movement to the case due to the lip on the camera. This in my opinion is to be expected from a slim fit case due to the design of the phone.

5) I think the cut outs is where the case out performs many. They are spot on it feels like I have an apple phone case in that respect. Having inaccurate cut outs really bothers me especially around the camera. This case has definitely done a good job with that.

Overall I think it’s a quality case but I personally find it hard to justify a $25+ price tag. It’s definitely one of the nicer minimalistic phone cases out there.

Would be interesting to see how it holds up to a drop test. I do find that it provides a small cushion when placing it on hard surface that many other slim cases do not do. If it does infact withhold a 6 feet drop test I may consider the 25$ price tag to be more reasonable.

Not real good with a glass protector on.

Agreed

My mujjo leather has better grip.

Depends how the phone falls but 6ft is a bit iffy as the sides of the case are not stiff and will come away from the phone easily, happened to me max fell off a cupboard 3 ft onto a opened draw and hit the side, lucky i had a glass protector on which chipped/shattered or would of been the screen, a case with stiffer sides would of been ok.

It is a perfect fitting case to the phone though. $35 here with delivery wouldn't buy another one.

1. A big lip does not affect function or swiping at all. I have the OtterBox Defender and it has a huge lip, it doesn't not get in the way.

That Sheath does not look protective

I prefer a minimal lip personally.

I think apple leather case has the best combination of grip and the cut out at the bottom means the swipe up functionality is not affected.

I just don’t like swiping up and feeling a ridge that’s all.

I also think Apple leather case has a nice grip especially after weeks of use. Never tried a mujjo case something about it doesn’t appeal to me.

I think no matter what case you have if it drops funny it can break the screen on any phone. I can’t stand having a screen protector on my phone but I can see why people do as it removes any risk of breaking the screen.

Well the sheath is marketed at people who don’t necessarily want extreme or even moderately extreme protection. I have one and I really dig the minimalist look and basic protection.

So far no matter what case I try I seem to go back to my Apple brown leather case. Sheath case is a good alternative when I get bored with the leather one.

I find holding the phone so much easier with one hand when I have the leather case on as it’s not digging into my pinky finger with plastic bottom.

Same over here.

I have lost count of the amount of cases I have ordered of Amazon for my X, looking for a good, slim, alternative to my Apple leather case. None come close to it and they all go back.

The other day I had four cases and a front and rear glass protector set delivered. Within 30 mins of them being delivered, they were on their way back to amazon.

I have the apple leather, but since getting the Sheath it’s been on full time.

If you read the massive thread on XS/XS Max case thread—there are several people in that thread who’ve dropped their phone with the case and it did it’s job protecting the phone. This is interesting, because if you look at the case in person—no way you think it would. What it really comes down to for me, I want a case that’s minimalistic with protection. Not interested in large, bulky cases. Phone can break in any case, with right drop. There are always trade offs. :)

If anyone has a black Sheath for an iPhone XR that they don’t like, I have a brand new Caudabe Lucid Clear(never opened) that I’d trade. I have 2 and am looking to get rid of one
