Searched for an hour with no help.
I cloned and replaced the original 60GB HDD on a friends first gen macbook 1.83ghz with a seagate 320gb HDD. I've done this several times through migration assistant and time machine on several of my own macbooks without a problem.
Drive booted externally, then internally but took about 2-3 minutes to boot. He used it for 5 days then the comp froze and he restarted for the first time. The startup bar loaded all the way but never actually started the OS. Under safe mode he got "darwin bsd login" screen. tried resetting PRAM also. He's not computer savvy and I'm 300miles away so I haven't had him boot in single user yet. any other suggestions?
