Hello,

As of late, whenever I attempt to burn a CD in Toast, I always get "The drive reported an error." I also get similar errors in iTunes when I attempt to burn. Now, whenever I put in a disc, my computer just sits idle for about 30 seconds and then it just spits it out.

I have read that the types and brand of media that I use maye have an effect on it, but I am using the same media I have always used that has worked in the past.

What is the problem and what are some ways I can fix it?

Thank you for the help,
Jason

I don't know the problem to be exact because there could be a few different things causing this. First off, check in System Profiler that your drive is being both recognised and recognised as capable of burning. Secondly, try a PRAM reset. Thirdly, try different branded media. I know you said the current brand worked before, but I think it's still worth a shot.

Does the computer spit out non-blank CDs and DVDs? :)
