Alright, for a good while now my cd drive has been acting up, like a lot of other peoples have as well, and I'm finally about fed up with it. It seems like it's taking more and more tries to get something to read these days. As I'm typing this I'm re-inserting a dvd multiple multiple times trying to get it to read. v.v

Anyway, my question is, can I get an external cd drive to watch movies and listen to cd's with? Or are those strictly for burning/ripping purposes? I'm not very tech savvy, so sorry for the dumb question.
If it is possible, any recommendations on good drives to invest in?

08 iMac with Leopard

Thanks!

Yes, you can. Video DVD watching might have been done with VLC Player though, unless there is an option / way to use an external disc drive with the Mac OS X DVD Player application.

Well that's no problem, as long as it plays I'm cool with it, got VLC already anyway.
Thanks for the speedy reply!

Still looking for some drive recommendations though if anyone has any. :)

Though you can use any available optical disk drive (ODD) if you want. I did with my iBook.
