CD drive spins VERY loudly

I have a black MacBook, bought June 2008. The last few days, whenever I've put in a CD, the drive has spun incredibly loudly, sometimes slowing down (usually when I'm in another program and not actively using the CD). It got to a breaking point when I tried listening to a new CD and the loud whirring noise got to be too much. What might be the problem and what can I do about it? Thanks!

You can take it to any Apple Authorized Service Provider or mail it in and have it repaired under warranty.
