Hi

My CD drive won't open using the eject key on my keyboard.
Is there any other way of opening it? Need to get a job off to the printers asap and can't get the in the drive to save it to a CD.

I have tried rebooting etc, but nothing seems to be working!

Please can someone help!
Thanks in advance
Jules

When rebooting, did you hold the mouse button down? That will attempt to force an eject.

If you have tray load drives, you should find an emergency eject slot on the drive's lower-left front (pull open the outside flippy door, if any, to see it). Pushing a paperclip or similar will start the tray out enough to grab with your fingers.

I have a Power Mac and the 'flippy door' at the front of the drive won't budge. Tried the force eject thing when rebooting and this didn't work either!

What is it, a G5? If the drive seems to be mechanically wedged, it's not too hard to pop the drive out to see if you can work it free (there could be a disc jammed in there). This PDF explains how to get at it.
