I'm pretty sure my drive is having some serious problems.
It can't recognise blank CD or DVDs, which I have successfully tested on my Mac Pro, so I don't think it's the media (lots of whirring for much longer than it normally takes to prompt Finder, then spits the disc out, or, if I manage to get beyond this and try and burn something, it results in a premature fail).
I did manage to burn a playlist last night, but that was at the end of an evening of failure otherwise.

If I take this in to my local Apple store (Regent St, London), will they just exchange the machine (bought a day after they were announced)?
I'm traveling a lot at the moment and having to send it in for fix and return would be a significant inconvenience *sigh*.
