CD/DVD only reads when laptop is tilted back 90*

I replaced my Cd-rom/DVD player a month ago after it was giving me trouble. I bought a Superdrive on ebay and installed it. I'm still having problems though, and I can barely use it. I have to tilt the laptop back to get it to read or eject a disc.

Do you think it's the drive or is it some other problem since I am on my 2nd drive? I don't have the money to have apple fix it, it's only 1.5 years old.

No one knows why this is? It seems to be a common problem, but I still can't find a solution.

Sounds like you bought a busted up drive =\

Either that, or it's not mounted right in the machine, but seeing how the slot lines up it has to be

damn! lol I just emailed the seller to see if he was aware of this happening. I'm hoping he'll just send me another one since he has like 100k feedback.

If he does then you are lucky! I would agree that it sounds like you bought a messed up drive!
