Cd keys for Mac Office?

I considering buying a used version of Mac Office 04. It has only been installed on one computer so it must still have 2 used back right? (even though its the student edition?)

Also, if I install it and then later have to clean/format my macbook - will I have to use the a new code to install it a second time on the same computer?

When 'cleaning' your mac, select archive+install, keeping all your apps.

So I could in theory buy a office-version that had already been used three times and just get new keys on the net?

Only asking cause I'm buying it used from ebay and the seller "thinks" it only has been installed once but isn't too sure about how many cd-keys he has.
