cd optical drive bowing?

hey everyone. i have a macbook pro that i bought over the summer, and also the applecare warranty and my cd drive opening is starting to bow downwards and sometimes cds will get stuck in there. has anyone else had this problem? do you think apple will cover it and fix it for free under warranty?

It's a defect. I'd take it in.

im going to take it in but i dont want to have to pay for it haha. does this happen to a lot of mbp's? whats the cause of it?

I doubt you'll have to; it happens to a fair number, judging by the threads I've seen here. As with everything else, it's due to poor construction.
