hello,

My cd-rom drive is has not working lately, I just put the cd in and I hear loud noises for about 15 minutes and then I can see a icon of the screen and takes another 15 mins to open a folder so as you can imagine I can not run anything. Audio cd's do work tho.I'm running a imac g3 333mhz and os 9.2.2 ( I know getting a new machine soon) any ideas of what might be causing this problem please help :) thanx in advance

Does the drive sound like it is spinning up extra fast, or are there other noises? You may have a simple dirty CD drive lense. I can't remember what type of drive that has, but if you have the tray loading style imac, you can try to open the CD door, and blow into the drive to remove any possible Dust, also you can try a CD drive cleaner.

No, I meant that post I wrote something I found out wasnt true and couldnt delete it. But I still need help, I tried blowing in it multiple times.

Please help some1!
