I'm fairly new to the iMac and have a problem with a cd that will not eject. I get the little rotating cd symbol continuously. I have tried the eject buttom, putting the computer to sleep and waking it up, restarting, shut down and restart starting while holding the left mouse button down on the mouse, all with no results. Is there anything else I can try?

Did some more searching and found the idea of turning computer upside down, that did the trick

You right-click the drive and choose "eject" in the menu.

I'm pretty sure that's what he did first...

Another thing that helped me on my iMac G5 (yeah... it's been a few years :D) is to reboot while holding down the eject key on the keyboard.

And if that doesn't work maybe going into Terminal and running:
Code:
sudo diskutil eject /dev/[diskToBeEjected]
That should force the CD to be ejected.

If you don't know which disk you should eject you can type:
Code:
diskutil list
Then you get a list of all the drives connected to your Mac.
