CD won't get pulled in

My macbook pro won't take a CD in. I push it to the point where it used to be taken and nothing happens. I tried resetting when holding down touchpad. Nothing. I tried opening the CD window up top and still nothing. If this a replacement issue now?

Sounds like a mechanical failure.

Is it possible that something is stuck inside?

Do you hear the drive making noise from a cold boot?

Not hearing anything spinning. I waa worried it was mechanical

If you are going to replace it, you'll have to open up the machine.

If you decide not to replace the DVD drive, you could install a DVD caddy and install a mechanical drive for additional storage and get an external usb DVD drive.
