CDL Holders or equivalent license

Any MR users have a CDL of any level, or your country/province equal? If so how long have you had it for and do you still use it for any jobs? Any additional certifications like Hazmat? I used to chat with Truckers on usenet, curious to see if anyone in similar lines of work hang out here.

Myself I have a Class A CDL that I got in the 1990s, I still use it from time to time but I may not renew mine when it expires next year. I also earned myself a Class 1 license in Saskatchewan province with additional airbrakes certification in the mid 1980s. That one I have not used since the early 1990s.

I've had a Class C CDL for decades. That's what I need to drive my car. I see no reason to attempt to qualify for a different classification since there is zero usage for me. I'm old enough to remember that my first Class C CDL was $2.

But hey, pay the state as much as you want regardless of whether or not you use it. There are plenty of Americans who don't have passports and I have Global Entry.

It really depends on your individual usage case just like owning a computer.

Get whatever required credentials you need for your individual usage case. In the long run, no one here really cares if you follow all the regulations and everything goes without comment. It only becomes an issue if you fail to comply with the law and it affects others.
