The situation:

When I insert a CD to import into iTunes, it won't show up. I have to open Disk Utility and mount the CD for it to show up in iTunes. I've tried it with iTunes already open and with it closed, the same thing happens. After it shows up in iTunes, it imports without issue. The details:

MacBook Pro
2.33 GHz, 120 GB HDD
OS X 10.5.2
iTunes 7.6

Any suggestions?
