Is there any reason to avoid having different carriers for an IPhone and Ipad. I have Verizon for my phone and was thinking on my IPad that I will be purchasing in the next week or two to get ATT on it. That way when I'm in an area where there is poor reception from one carrier then maybe they other would be able to get better reception. Any thoughts or should I get the same carrier on both devices?

Your logic makes sense to me, but it might be cheaper to stay with one carrier and have a shared data plan. For example I have Verizon for my iPhone and I believe I can add an iPad for $10 a month and share the same data pool.
