Since updating my iPhone to iOS 8.1 (went straight from 7 to 8.1), I'm constantly getting a popup message whenever I open my photos:
  • Cellular Data is Turned Off for "Photos"

I like to keep my photos on my phone and not give it to Apple or any other cloud operator.

Any ideas how to stop this (apart from uploading everything into the kloud which isn't going to happen)?

Annoying popups is a stunt I'd expect from Microsoft not Apple.

actrually I am wrong, location services in privacy controls if geotags are used in the camera or photos

not exactly sure why photos has a cellular data toggle

No yet..

Have you found out how to disable that super annoying notification?

In my case it appears twice very often..once it appears the first time I tap "OK" to dismiss it then it appears immediately again, I tap "OK" again and it is gone. But next time I open the Photos app.. I have to tap the notifications again... very annoying. Actually I just tried it again and it showed the notification message FOUR times!

They don't go to the cloud unless you choose for them to. Also, what's the point of turning it off under cellular..if they were being uploaded, it would happen over wifi as well..

In my case, I don't want to use my mobile data for uploading my photos. For that I can wait to get home, and they get uploaded when I turn on the wifi in the phone.

They've fixed it

Since updating to iOS 8.1.1, it appears that this embuggerance has now gone.

I would say this is a good thing. However, it should not have been there in the first place.

I am also on 8.1.1, but still have the "problem"..

Oh joy. That can only mean one thing... that Apple are stealing my photos and sending them into their damnable cloudy sharing thing that I want no part of.

OK, I appreciate that they're not uploading the photos, but there's obviously some setting that I've either left on as it's a default setting and so will be leaking data to them.

It really irks me that there's the assumption that I want to share everything with these malevolent corporations. I am not their product to exploit. (The sixties TV programme "The Prisoner" springs to mind)
