I just returned form two weeks in the USA, (no stop overs, direct flights both ways).

Just had my bill for the period:

For the two weeks I was in USA, I used 336 Mb for which I was charged £0.00

For the seven hours I was in the aeroplane on the way back I used 3.3 Mb for which I was charged £20.10.

I didn't know it was possible to incur data charges on a flight, and was actually asleep most of the time. Obviously I should have left it in Airplane mode, but think I must have turned Airplane mode off to use my hearing aids at some point (HAs controlled by phone).

The zero charge while in the USA was as expected for the Three All-in-One package, which treats overseas data as coming from your standard allowance for many overseas providers. The Virgin AeroMobile network is obviously not one of the overseas providers included in this policy.
