Trying to troubleshoot before I call Verizon since they haven't been great in the past. When I'm outside and turn my phone into airplane mode, I can't make/receive calls with Cellular showing connected in Settings on the watch. Anything else I can do? Verizon's website shows the line is active. Everything works great when the phone is turned on over bluetooth

Thanks

So when the phone is inside, far away enough to not be connected to the AW - does it work then?

I didn't try that. Is there a reason putting the phone into airplane mode will cause the Apple Watch not to work? Call me paranoid, but I put the phone in a locker at the swimming pool and there have been some incidence of theft. I don't want anybody walking around with some sort of scanner which detects the various radios that exist on the phone and it's an indication that's a good locker to break into. However, during this time, I also want the ability to receive any urgent calls on my Apple Watch

I don’t know if airplane mode is an issue, asking just for troubleshooting … but come to think about, maybe it also turns off cellular on the AW? Airplane mode does not turn off BT…
