I have an older grandfathered cellular plan with Verizon. It is only 4G. I do not want to upgrade the plan because it is a business plan with multiple phones on it. I want to upgrade just my iPhone 8 Plus to the 12 Pro Max. Will I still be able to get 5G connection? Thanks for the help!

I had an 8+, upgraded to 12PM and was able to keep my same plan. I went into a Verizon store to get it all done as opposed to ordering. I wanted to see the phones in person and I also wanted to talk to a human. Verizon's plans couldn't get any more confusing.

If you are looking for the Ultra Wide Band 5G and live in areas that get service consistently, you would likely have to upgrade your plan. If you are like me and get the "Nationwide 5G" coverage you could keep your plan. Do yourself a favor, disable the 5G Auto and stick with LTE. Better battery life and better speed until the network is further built out.

I’m just itching to get a new phone! I love my 8 Plus, but I’m ready for a full screen phone! The 5G is an option, but honestly with my business plan (6 phones on it including mine) I am paying 50 a month. If I were to start a new personal plan, I am told it would be 145 a month. That’s a crazy difference.
