As the title says, my iPad 3rd Gen will not connect to the cellular network, or it drops the connection, even when the icon shows 4-5 bars.

This is not a location issue because my wife can connect with her iPad 3rd Gen and iPhone 4S when sitting right next to me. Additionally, I can connect without issue when I try the same task with my iPhone 5.

So, do you feel that this may be a faulty antenna? My nearest Apple store is about an hour away. I was just trying to get thoughts before making the trek down there.

Reset

Have you tried "Settings, General, Reset, Reset Network Settings"? If not, give that a try -- it resets both carrier settings and wifi connections, so beware that afterwards you will have to "re-join" any wifi connections you previously made.

Thanks. I'll retry that next time I am out.
