I'm making a video for school and some of the footage has swears in it so i need to know how to censor using those black bars and bleep's in Final Cut Express. If anyone knows how to do this that would be very helpful, or if theres any helpful websites demonstrating this.
thanks

You could use the another video track (the one above the actual footage) to display a black image which you crop and position using the editor that is displayed in the Viewer (left monitor) when you double click the black image.

Audio: Display Waveforms in the Timeline and Volume Level Overlays, and then go to the part with the word that needs to be censored (yeahhhh), drag down the volume at this point.
And find an appropriate sound that you can put there (self recorded maybe?) on another video track.

For "Display Waveforms in the Timeline and Volume Level Overlays" consult the manual.

Instead of a black image you can also simply use the solid color generator which you can find in Effects, Video, Generator, Color (iirc).
