Certain MP3 files I can only play in Quicktime, not iTunes or VLC

I cannot get these mp3 files to play in iTunes, or even VLC. But the quickplay features all work; it does work in quicktime!

i just did a google search, and apparently this is a problem with iTunes, so Ill have to buy it from iTunes store if I want to play them (way to go apple!)

Please tell us this error? I can play every single mp3 I have in iTunes. Ones I have ripped etc. Sorry I haven't googled this but what is the error? Or maybe you can re-rip them?

well I already bought the album, but while looking for something to reply with I found

that does work for certain apparently 'VBR' mp3 files that wont work in iTunes.

Very interesting... I have several hundred vbr mp3 never had a problem. I am not saying yours don't or that there has never been an issue. I just find that rather odd that is all. Well at least you got it to work.

yea i was surprised, because the help thread was in 08, havent even considered iTunes issues since like, 05~ at latest
