CES 2025 is in full swing, and MacRumors videographer Dan Barbera is back with another video showcasing new and upcoming tech products. Today's video highlights a range of Apple accessories, including power banks, hubs, Qi2 chargers, Find My devices, and more.

Anker had a 25,000mAh power bank that can charge a MacBook at up to 165W, and it includes a retractable USB-C cable. Retractable cables are a popular accessory add-on this year, and we're seeing quite a few manufacturers adding convenient cables to their products.

Satechi has new Qi2 3-in-1 and 2-in-1 compact travel charging options in fun colors, along with matching Qi2 power banks. Satechi was also showing off its M4 Mac mini hub that adds USB-A ports, an SD card slot, and easy access to the power button to the Mac mini.

Moft had new wallets with built-in Find My support, and an iPad Pro case with a built-in iPhone holder for a dual-screen setup. Aukey had a 6-in-1 magnetic charger with added ports for powering multiple phones, an Apple Watch, and other accessories, along with a 3-in-1 charger with active cooling technology.

SanDisk had a MagSafe SSD for content creators, Flic Duo showed off a button with gesture-based controls for HomeKit devices, and OWC was demoing its Thunderbolt 5 SSD and hub. Scosche also had a Find My-enabled card tracker, a car charger with Find My so you can keep tabs on your car, and a a blood glucose monitor. Lockly had a Secure Pro lock with UWB for hands-free door unlocking with an iPhone, and Plantaform showed off an indoor gardening machine that looks like a Keurig for plants.

Dan will be wandering the show floor for the rest of today, so make sure to stay tuned to see tomorrow's CES roundup video. We're also covering all kinds of announcements from CES, which you can check out at our CES 2025 hub, plus we did a CES Unveiled video yesterday.

I’m begging people, don’t buy power banks with retractable cables. Don’t make it trendy, don’t make it the new norm. If the cable breaks, then too bad, you can’t use it.

Just put an extra USB C port there. I’ll take that any day of the week.

What a second… “and Other Cool Apple Acessories [sic]”?

That implies that the previously mentioned power banks, chargers snd hubs are cool as well. Ugh. The CES bar for coolness is so low in 2025. Anybody remember when CES used to be more than just a showcase of iPhones chargers that are slightly better than the previous year’s iPhone chargers?

(It’s been a while, hasn’t it? 😂)

I bought a charger with cable a couple of years ago from one of the Chinese companies with an unpronounceable name. The cable doesn't retract; it's short and just clips to the side. I love it. Very convenient when out and about not to have to fuss with a separate cable. I use a rubber band to attach the charger to the phone; crude but it works.

I tried a Magsafe charger attached magnetically to my phone. I didn't like it because 1) it is too slow, 2) it makes the phone hot, and 3) it easily slips off the phone when you handle it. (I have a pass-through case on the phone; perhaps the magnetic attachment would be better if there wasn't a case between charger and phone.)

An attached cable does have a risk of breaking, and a retractable one has more parts to fail than just a connected one, but it's a tradeoff. I'm happy with my choice, and if the cable breaks on mine, I would replace it with a similar one.

I might have to pick up one of those Satechi 2-1 chargers for when I travel. I still have a MagSafe Duo but after using type C cables for the past year, using lightning feels slow.
