LIFX, known for its smart lighting options, debuted a new SuperColor Mirror at CES 2026. The SuperColor Mirror features both front and back lighting options, and it connects to an Apple Home setup using Matter.

There are lighting modes like Make Up Check and Anti-Fog that users can select, plus brightness and color can be adjusted. LIFX says that other Matter-enabled devices can be controlled using three physical buttons that are on the mirror.

The mirror features polychrome blended color technology with multiple lighting zones. Like other SuperColor LIFX products, the mirror's lights can shift and morph smoothly between different colors, and there are color effects like flame and paint.

The SuperColor Mirror and other LIFX devices will get a Thread upgrade later in 2026, so they can connect to Matter over Thread in addition to Wi-Fi.

LIFX is launching new Smart Dimmer switches that include four customizable buttons and a built-in 8-zone light bar. The Dimmer Switch has Matter support and it is designed to work with both smart and traditional lights. There are single tap, double tap, and long press gestures, so it can perform multiple tasks when assigned to activate scenes.

The Smart Dimmer includes dimming support for LED, Halogen, or incandescent bulbs, along with full scene and effect control for LIFX lights. With the Matter integration, it should also be able to control other Matter-connected lights.

There are also new affordable Matter-connected smart lighting options that are available from LIFX. The Everyday A19 LED Light Bulb features 800 lumens and support for multiple colors, while the 20-foot Everyday Lightstrip features 24 addressable zones for flowing effects and a 4-button physical controller for activating scenes. The Everyday Bulb is priced at $23 for two and it is available now from Amazon, while the Everyday Lightstrip will launch later in January.

The Smart Dimmer is set to launch in the second quarter of 2026 for $30. The SuperColor Mirror will also come out in the second quarter, but pricing has yet to be announced.

A mirror should be an app for a smart display, not a separate smart device.

I am aware of the technical challenges involved, but I think those are more worth solving than... whatever the heck this is supposed to solve.

Sucks it took this company so long to bounce back. I had all their stuff in the early days of smart home stuff but I sold it all years ago and switched to nano leaf... which im starting to regret
Exactly in the same boat, LIFX was such a mess but not sure if its any better? Their software support and lack of thread was such an annoyance since my lights were almost always offline. I also don't necessarily regret nanoleaf albeit the lighting quality is definitely worse and they've seemingly moved on from thread which is such a big fumble.

I want more Thread / Zigbee (prefer Thread) light options! For thread in the US it seems to only be Nanoleaf and they have a bad reputation and are moving to WiFi only.

For those wondering why Wi-Fi bulbs are bad: any smart device should really not be given direct access to the internet. They are notoriously insecure devices and often become unsupported by the manufacturer long before they fail. So then your network is at risk of being hacked. Using a different network (Thread, Zigbee, Z-Wave) means that only your hub (border router) has to be secure. If you use Home Assistant or an Apple TV as your hub then they act as a more secure “firewall” to better keep out hackers.

Also, modern WiFi is very complicated, especially with mesh networks. These WiFi smart devices end up being really flaky or causing issues with your network.

Matter is not the physical network used. Rather it’s the language used so devices can work together instead of being proprietary.

Interesting to see this mirror. I would prefer to use a simple mirror. Waiting to hear the price of this smart mirror. Don't know whether it will launch or whether it will be delayed.

I really liked their products, but the company seems to have been through a bit of a restructure. From an email I got via a warranty issue:

"Per the terms of the agreement under which Feit Electric acquired certain assets including the LIFX brand, any support relating to products sold before the Closing Date (02/08/22) remains under the direction of Lifi Labs and Buddy Technologies. We’d like to thank you for reaching out to us and would hope to earn your business as a Feit Electric Customer if and when we engage with the European marketplace. At this time, however, we apologize, but we do not currently have a presence in your region that would allow us to assist with handling your issue."

Hopefully they return to the UK in the future. The products I've had from them have been generally excellent (minus an issue with an LED strip).

Been using its Light Beam since 2021, bring on Matter-over-Thread and I will be switching over from Nanoleaf !
Please ship the Thread update🙌

Meh.

Is it too much to hope for a company that will make something like a Magic Mirror?

Edit: Ugh, Feit Electric. After dealing with their light bulbs, there is absolutely no way I’ll ever buy anything they’ve touched.
