Hey, quick question. I want to preorder an iPhone 4S, but I might have to wait until later tomorrow. Would they be sold out by tomorrow afternoon do you think? How do Apple pre-orders work? Thanks

I would guess that, yes the pre-orders will be closed by Friday afternoon.

Based on the past few years, plus I think Steve's untimely passing may actually boost sales on this one. Just my guess.

Last year the average person couldn't even get on apple.com come 3:05am (eastern)

The buzz is nowhere near close enough for it to be sold out anywhere.

Ok. Hopefully not. This is my first iPhone, switching from numerous Android devices. I'm excited, and just want it now. :) Android is too slow and unpolished.

Well I hope not, that wouldn't be good. I guess I could just get it next Friday in-store.

I was going to post something like this but hadn't yet. I'm not doing anything until the Google/Samsung event next week, at the earliest. They're dubbing this the "fastest rollout ever". Hopefully they didn't just mean the amount of countries/carriers that it'll be available to, but also the number of units already produced.

I will be able to walk into Verizon on October whatever day it's coming out, I forget, and walk out with new iPhone 4S in hand.
