My wifes 3GS has really been buggy, laggy, and at time non-responsive. We've tried a reset, but it hasn't helped.

She bought the phone in late august last year, if she were to go to the genius bar and ask for a new phone, what do you think would be the response? What is the course of action to fix?

Just looking to see if anyone else has had these issues and what they did about them.

thanks.

Try doing a full firmware restore and don't restore the backup. See if that helps. They'll probably ask if u did thus at the store anyways
