Hey folks,
Do any of you know if changing the mac address of the Airport extreme card in my powerbook is possible. I tried doing a
Code:
ifconfig en1 ether 00:99:99..etc

but it says
Code:
ifconfig: ioctl (SIOCAIFADDR): permission denied
I know you can do this with normal pc cards, and with the ethernet(i've done it before). So far, i love my powerbook and the wireless is great, but the airport cards are lame when it comes to fun wardriving kinds of stuff and packet sniffing, emulating mac addresses.. probably a good thing

Any thoughts?
Peace,
Max

what do you think?
hint:
Code:
ifconfig: ioctl (SIOCAIFADDR): Operation not supported
thats the one i got, and it says everything in three sweet simple words.

btw, wardriving with a mac is major fun :)
and i'm sure youve heard of it already, but theres an app called KisMac thats really nice :)

Which card do you use to do your wardriving with? I'm gonna be in a city this year and would love to do some warwalking or warpublictransportationing (no car :( ). From what I can tell the orinoco cards are the way to go, but are they mac friendly? They seem to be a standard so I would assume, but thats a dangerous thing to do.
